USA News: Biden will hold FBI head if Trump doesn't fire him
USA
News: US President-elect Joe Biden is ready to keep Christopher Wray in his
post as director of the FBI. The New York Times writes, citing a source
according to whom Joe Biden "plans not to change the director of the FBI
unless Trump fires him." Wray was chosen by Donald Trump in 2017, after
the abrupt dismissal of his predecessor James Comey.
Special
Attorney Robert Mueller's investigation into Russiagate also covered Comey's
ouster. Wray's name has been circulating in the media as one of the senior
officials Trump may dismiss before his term ends, as they are not considered
fair enough. Biden News - At the moment we don't know if Wray will end up like
Pentagon chief Mark Esper, who was ousted by Trump in a tweet.
But
the New York Times source's underlining appears as a message addressed to the
Republican party, from whose ranks come Wray, who was an assistant to the
Justice Minister in George Bush's son administration. By keeping Wray in
office, Joe Biden would revert to the practice of holding FBI directors in
office for a decade or so.
