When playing with the dog – Joe Biden injures his foot

Joe Biden - The US President-elect will have to wear a support shoe in the coming weeks. He bent over as he played with his book. He suffered a sprained ankle and hairline cracks in his right foot.

The elected US President Joe Biden sprained his right ankle while playing with his German shepherd and sustained small stress fractures in his foot.

It can therefore be assumed that Biden would have to wear a boot-like orthopaedic support shoe "for several weeks," said Doctor Kevin O'Connor in a statement made by Biden's office. This makes it possible that Joe Biden will still have to wear the support shoe during his planned ceremonial inauguration on January 20.

The "hairline cracks" affected two small foot bones, so-called cuneiform bones, as the doctor further explained. Joe Biden first went to an orthopaedic surgeon in Newark, Delaware, late on Sunday afternoon. X-rays initially showed no break. The small breaks were then detected during an examination with an MRI scanner.

And maybe a cat soon

According to his office, the 78-year-old was injured on Saturday while playing with his German Shepherd Major. According to US media reports, Biden had adopted the dog from a shelter in 2018. A representative from Joe Biden's office said the president-elect had the injury investigated on Sunday so that his scheduled appointments for Monday would not be affected.

Democrat Biden and his wife Jill have two sheepdogs, champ and Major, who are due to move into the White House with them in January. During the election campaign, Joe Biden even made fun of incumbent President Donald Trump in a tweet for having previously made derogatory comments about a President's dogs in the White House. The Biden's also reportedly wants to get a cat before moving to the White House
